This error is caused because a service is either not running, firewall is blocking access, or anti-virus software is blocking access.
Verify that the CS WinOMS server is powered on and logged into the local Windows account.
- Double click Sybase Central or SQL Central icon on the desktop
- Click Adaptive Server Anywhere 9
- Click Services tab
- Right click SQLMDS
- Click Start
Light should turn green and status will read Started
- Click File
- Click Exit
- Log into CS WinOMS
Also verify that anti-virus software has an exception for mdcs.exe and dbsrv9.exe. If not. they will need to be added.
