CMP Weekly Release

Care Management Platform (CMP)

Weekly Release

Build  | March 13th, 2019

These are the highlights of the changes available in this week’s Care Management Platform (CMP) release. It should be noted that this week’s release contains several Voice of Customer items that deliver on recent requests from customers that are actively using CMP to operate their practices.

Basic Periodontal Exams

This week’s release includes support for recording sextant-based periodontal screening, commonly known as Periodontal Screening and Recording (PSR) in the US (or Basic Periodontal Examination (BPE) in the UK). Users are now able to perform and record these cursory assessments of periodontal health in CMP. There is a new PSR (again, BPE in the UK) module in the banner of the Hard Tissue Chart UI that displays the latest exam results, as well as providing the ability to record a new exam, edit the current exam (on the same day), and review any existing historical exams.

Clicking on New Exam will display the new PSR / BPE dialog from which users can record the exam results. The exam date defaults to the current day, but can be set to a previous date to accommodate delayed exam recordings. Users can enter the applicable score, per sextant, including the ability to flag the sextant for any additional abnormal findings or furcation. The dialog also contains a detailed legend that explains the standards for the exam scoring values to help users who are less familiar with the PSR / BPE protocol.pasted image 0.png

Once recorded, the most recent exam is displayed in the banner module and a clinical event note is added to the patient’s clinical history in the side panel of the Hard Tissue Chart UI. Additionally, once the patient has a history of exams, users can quickly review all existing PSR / BPE exams via the banner module. As with the existing, full perio exam functionality, changes in PSR / BPE scores will be flagged green (improved) or red (degraded) to highlight trending in a patient’s periodontal health over time.pasted image 0 (1).png

We are happy to be able to provide the PSR / BPE screening functionality, especially for our UK users who regularly perform these limited perio exams as part of standard preventative care. We look forward to getting any feedback and enhancement requests once users start taking advantage of this new feature.

Location-Based Time Units

Per several customer requests, this week’s release also includes support for allowing practices to set an alternative base time unit value to use for scheduling. CMP users can now set the base time unit - the time interval to use as a scheduling unit - as 5, 10, or 15 minutes. Users can access this control via the Schedule Settings UI in the Administration tab and can be set per location to accommodate multi-location practices that have variable scheduling protocols. Once set, the Schedule Day/Week view will be rendered on this unit basis and all appointment durations will be based on this interval.unnamed.png

Users can also change the base time unit setting for a location to support cases in which a location’s scheduling strategy or protocol changes over time. CMP will prompt users of any potential impacts of this change to both the Schedule Day/Week view and existing appointments. For example, any existing appointments that need a duration adjustment to meet the new minimum will be automatically adjusted. No additional intervention is needed by users.pasted image 0 (3).png

We know that this will be a welcome addition for many practices that do not work on a standard 15 minute basis. We are eager to get this enhancement out to CMP users and hear how it accommodates their scheduling needs (and where it still needs to be enhanced).

Manual Recare / Recall Date Assignment

Lastly, this week’s release includes another enhancement for which we have received VOC and customer requests - the ability to manually assign a last recare date. This is especially useful for practices that are new to CMP, as it allows users to establish the set point for the patient’s ongoing recare cycle. When manually set, the patient’s last recare date will be used to start calculating the patient’s recare status and get him correctly set in the Recare List UI. Once that patient’s first recare appointment is scheduled in CMP, the existing automated system takes over and uses the recare settings in the patient’s Patient Record to determine current status. However, the user can always manually set the last recare date again via the Patient Record UI in case something needs to be adjusted.pasted image 0 (4).png

We know that a few specific customers are looking forward to this enhancement, as it will allow them to manage their current patient roll as they start to become patients of record in CMP. We look forward to hearing how this helps practices manage their recare business.

Optimizations and Fixes

The following fixes and optimizations have been added to CMP this week.

  1. Fixed a small UI defect that caused some crowding of procedures in the Hard Tissue Charting dialog making reading and selection a bit difficult.
  2. Added an email notification to admin team members every night if there are any insurance claims that have been created, but have not yet been queued to send to the clearinghouse and may require some action.
  3. Enhanced the Financial Daysheet UI so that the Responsible Party name is displayed for all applicable posted transactions.
