Add Ins for Save and Close are not present

Jump to solution

Hello.

I am trying to change one of our letters in the Letter Setup and once I make my changes, I usually will go to the Add-Ins section and click Save and Close so that it updates the template but the Save and Close icon in not present for this particular letter.   How do I get that back?

Thank you!

Good day Kim ( @kslav2002 ),

This usually occurs when the properties of the individual Word document have a "Comment" set which is causing the document to be "save" mode.  Correct the Properties of the source Word document to remove the "isSaving" Comment.  It is unknown what causes this option to get set in the first place but removing this comment should restore proper save functionality in the letter.

1.  Open the letter in Letter Setup.  Obtain the title of the source Word document from the title bar at the top of the screen.  This will be in the format AWPPXXX.DOC  or AWPRXXX.DOC  .

2.  Close the letter so it is not in use.

3.  Browse to the \Docs folder on the server  (usually U:\OMS\Docs ).

4.  Right click the filename for that particular letter (example: AWPR010.DOC)  and select Properties from the pop-up menu.

5.  Click the Details tab at the top.

6.  In the section Description at the top of the Details tab, locate the Comments line.  When this issue has been seen on client PCs, we have seen a Comment "isSaving" in that box.

7.  Remove the comment entirely by clicking on it, pressing Delete on the keyboard to delete all text, and pressing Enter on the keyboard.

8.  Click the Apply button, then the OK button to close the Properties screen.

9.  The letter should now have a Save and Close icon in the Add-Ins tab (highlighted in red in the below screenshot) and changes made to the letter (whether made in Letter Setup, or made in the Edit Letter function after posting a letter for specific patients) will save successfully.
