Adding insurance to responsible party

Jump to solution

We have responsible parties linked because multiple children.  I add insurance on one child's account, and it does not automatically populate into the other children's accounts.  If I add a DOB to parent, it appears on all accounts, so why not insurance? Am I doing something wrong? TIA

Re: Adding insurance to responsible party

Good day Paula ( @paularyfa ),

Insurances are separate across patients even if they are using the same responsible party, because not all insurances will apply to all patients associated with that responsible party.  Thus, adding a responsible party to a patient does not automatically attach all the same insurances that may be attached to that same responsible party on other patients. For one thing, we have no way of knowing that all the same insurances which apply to a different patient also apply on the new patient; for another thing, there would be no way to know what rankings to use once the insurances were attached to the new patient. In other words, you will need to add insurances separately to the responsible party on each patient.

Please let us know if you have any other questions!
