We have noticed that when editing a chart entry and then revise that appointment's procedure codes, the chart notes will disappear and have to be re entered all over again.
For instance we had a new patient exam appointment. We normally enter procedure codes for photos and new patient exam. If we take a pan, we add the procedure code for it to that visit and we also enter another procedure code that will change the patient's status. When the code field by the chart entry box is clicked the chart notes that were typed disappear.
You can imagine how frustrating this is.
Has anyone else had issues with this?

Good day Helen ( @htrohatos ),
That particular defect is not yet corrected in the latest version. If you are needing to change both the text and the procedures attached to a previously saved treatment entry, the workaround for the issue is to change the procedure code or codes first and then change the text, which will save both sets of changes with no issues.

Any ideas on this @ydillon?
Good day Helen ( @htrohatos ),
There are several different defects related to the Edit Today's Treatment function in OrthoTrac version 14 and higher, some of which are fixed in a later iteration of version 14 and some of which are yet to be corrected in a future version. What specific version is your practice running?

Glad I decided to check the boards today because this is a dealbreaker for us switching over to the new charting module. I guess we will stick to the old version.
Good day Laura (@sundberg101 ),
The defect in question occurs only when you are attempting to use "Edit Today's Treatment" to change both the procedure code and the text associated with a previously saved visit. We have had no reports of clients who state that they frequently have to change both at the same time. Usually only a text change, or a procedure code change, is needed, and in that case the defect does not come into play. The work around is sufficient for the few times that a change to both is needed.

That happens quite often in our practice. We print out a charting history report at the end of each day for the assistants and doctor to review for errors in spelling, punctuation, codes, and notes. Quite often they are in there correcting both on any given chart (part of me thinks they don't worry about getting it right the first time because they know it will be reviewed before they leave) on any given patient day. There have only been a few days over the past 6 years that they have not had to do any corrections in charting/procedure codes at the end of the day.
Good day Laura ( @sundberg101 ),
Fair enough. Workflow and policies are different from office to office so the different perspective is very useful. The more comments we get about this defect, the quicker it will get corrected. Please do keep posting your thoughts on anything you find to be a problem for your practice.
