Over the last couple of months, claims being submitted to Guardian are being rejected due to a Group # being missing. We have the generic Group # 999999 listed for all electronic claims. I am unable to get answers from Guardian. Is anyone else having this same issue or is there a way where I can enter a Group #??
Maybe someone can help me with this question since I did not get a response from the original question. Is there a way to put a Group # in an electronic claim?? I have tried deleting the generic ID# 999999 but it will not let me save the information.
Hello @kslav2002, I apologize that your first post wasn't answered. I have escalated this to our eServices team and they have assigned someone to contact you.
Hi @kslav2002, A tech reached out but had to leave a message (with a reference number for when you call back). They also let me know the following,
Normally claims shouldn’t be sent with 99999 as a group #, specifically for Guardian. Guardian will reject claims with all 9s as a group# in most cases. If you have copies of the patient's insurance cards it should provide the group # on the back of the card or you can call Guardian to get that information as well. The group number needs to be entered into OrthoTrac as is, with no spaces or dashes.
Is there a reason why you cannot change a Group number for an insurance company?? I have tried to delete the generic 999999 from our Guardian carrier but it won't let me save it blank.
