We recently found a Future Patients Report under: Reports--Miscellaneous--Future Patients
It was not enabled so we called in and were able to turn this function on. BUT the rep was not able to explain this function to us.
We are looking for some information about this REPORT. How is it used?

Good morning! The future patient report is designed to help you keep up with family members of your patient database that have not reached the age of of 7. You can enter the name, date of birth and gender either when adding a new patient in the "Add family" field; or in patient information under responsible party choose add a family member.
Once these are added, the report will give you a list of all "future patients" turning 7 so that you can reach out and schedule them for an exam.
This is great feature to use when you have a patient with a younger sibling that is not quite ready for an orthodontic exam.
@DFletcher thank you for the information. We are still a little confused on how to add these patients. Are we adding them as new patients? If so how do we differentiate whether a family member is in active treatment or not? Is there a way to add them just as a future patient? Because technically these siblings are not our patients yet until they come in for an initial exam.
That is correct - they are NOT considered a patient until they come in for exam. Once you add them as family, they are only in OrthoTrac connected as a family member to a patient. You would not find them in your patient data base.
When you run your report for future patients (Reports - Misc - Future Patients) - this will give you a list of your future patients entered that have turned 7 and can be called for an exam.
To add them as a patient, you would go to the patient look up screen - Add New - Special - Add family. From that screen you would choose the name and enter in the information to add them as a patient in your system.
The add family and future patient reporting are simply a way to keep up with possible future patients so that we can contact them at the appropriate time to schedule a New Patient exam.
