PPO vs Cash %

Jump to solution

Is there a way anyone knows about to get a % of cash/self-paying patients vs Insured patients in the Orthtrac system?  Any ideas will help.  Thanks in advance!

Good day Audrey ( @audreyf ),

If you are just looking for the percentages, this is the quickest way.  The following search will tell you how many patients in the system have an insurance carrier attached to them.

1.  Select Reports, Financial, Accounts Receivable by, Insurance Carrier.

2.  Make sure "All Accounts" is selected and click OK.

3.  When asked to select a printer, click "Preview Report" and click OK  (so you don't print out hundreds of pages of results you don't need).

4.  Click the right arrow button at the bottom next to "Zoom" to go to the final page of the report. The number next to "Accounts Read" will tell you how many total patients have an insurance attached to them.

Next, to find out how many total patients are in the system:

1.  Go to Reports, Patient, Patient Listing.

2.  Click OK twice.

3.  When prompted to select a printer, select "Preview Report" and click OK (again, so you don't print out hundreds of pages you don't need).

4.  Click the right arrow button at the bottom next to "Zoom" to go to the final page of the report. The number next to "Patients Printed" will tell you how many total patients are in the system.

Once you have both numbers, you can calculate the percentage of patients who have an insurance attached. The remaining percentage, of course, would be the patients who don't have insurance.

If you have any other questions, please let us know!

Regards,

Phil Carter / OrthoTrac Escalations
