Slow response

Jump to solution

Why is orthotrac so slow in response when doing anything. Many times it just freezes and says "not responding" Very aggravating. No pattern to it either. Just very slow!!!

Good day Terry ( @TUTHMVR ),

I see that you emailed Support about this as well and that we responded recommending you contact your office technician, but let me provide some more context here.

OrthoTrac performance is highly dependent upon the local PCs and your local network setup.  Typically when performance is slower than normal, it indicates issues with your environment or network configuration including, but not limited to:

-- problems with the network configuration itself
-- hardware problems with the office network such as issues with routers, cabling or switches
-- hardware issues on the PCs themselves such as network card issues, bad cabling or connectors
-- issues with incorrect or overly restrictive firewall / antivirus settings
-- stability problems or configuration problems with the remote RDP session (for satellite offices connecting remotely through terminal services to the main office)
-- Internet speed / Internet connection issues (again, for satellite offices connecting remotely)

and many other possibilities. Typically the first thing we recommend in cases where the office is seeing slower performance is to have all workstations and the server rebooted to reset and reestablish all connections. If the slow performance continues, you would need to get your office IT technician involved to determine the possible causes and remedies.

If your office tech has additional questions they are welcome to reach out to Support directly.

Regards,

Phil Carter / OrthoTrac Escalations

ORTHOTRAC is slow because they refuse to update software and continue to use unsupported software that leaves our practices open to cyber attacks.  They refuse to address and attack users who speak out.

Good day Dr. Horsey ( @ghorsey ),

The practice that posted this question originally is NOT hosted on our Cloud.  Their environment is managed by their own independent IT technicians. The response we provided to their inquiry stands.
