We are working hard trying to wrap up beta so we can get V9 out before the end of the year.
When you install V9, it will install the 2019 codeset for you. Until then, you will find the instructions for manually adding and updating the CDT 2019 codes in the CS PracticeWorks practice management software below.
Attached is the job aid as well.
Manually Adding CDT 2019 Codes one by one:
1. Click Lists > Transaction codes.
2. Under the Ledger codes to display section, select Dental Codes and click Add.
3. Enter the abbreviation, description, and code number for the new code.
4. Select the code type and treatment class.
5. Enter additional information under the Supplementary information section, and enter any fee information if necessary.
The CDT 2019 code set includes the following changes:
- Fifteen (15) new codes are added to the database

There is a problem with this procedure. The new codes are part of the 2019 CDT code set but there is no 2019 selection so it goes in under "Other" ADA CDT Code Set. So unless an employee knows to select "Other", it will appear that the new codes aren't there. How do we fix this?
Until version 9.0 releases there isn't a 2019 CDT option in the Member of checks or in the drop down list for the code set. For now, the brand new codes will most likely show up in the 'other' code set. once v9.0 releases it will create the 2019 drop down and the new codes will automatically be brought over to that code set.
When you say they will automatically be brought over that means they will be removed from the "Other" group so there will be no confusion? Or they will be simply inactivated? Also, what happens with the fees and descriptions and other options entered under Other when they code is moved over?
When offices update to v9.0 of PracticeWorks, it will automatically add the 2019 code set drop down on the Transaction Code list. It will also add the new 2019 codes to the list, while inactivating the codes that are no longer going to be used.
Any new codes that were manually added prior to the update will be moved to the 2019 code list, along with all codes that continue from previous years that are still in use. It will bring over your in office fees for those codes so you will not have to go through and add them back in again.
