Hello everyone,
The CDT Injector was updated with the 2020 CDT code set today.
If you are 9.0 or above, the injector will give you the codes but in order to get the graphics associated with the 37 new codes, you'll have to update to v10.
v10 we are hoping to release on Friday and start shipping early next year.
If you are under v9, you must input them manually.
Below are instructions for that. A PDF is also attached.
Thanks!
Tyson
Manually Adding CDT 2020 Codes one by one:
1. Click Lists > Transaction codes.
2. Under the Ledger codes to display section, select Dental Codes and click Add.
3. Enter the abbreviation, description, and code number for the new code.
4. Select the code type and treatment class.
5. Enter additional information under the Supplementary information section, and enter any fee information if necessary.

There are also 15 editorial (e.g., syntax spelling) actions that clarify without changing the CDT Code entry's purpose or scope.
Thanks for the update. Please refresh my memory as to how to add them in 2020 in V 9.1
Thanks
Hello @joedindo
Just in case you didn't figure it out yet upon opening the PracticeWorks software this morning.
If you are on CS PracticeWorks v9.0 or higher, the software now automatically runs a utility once a week to check on our servers to see if there are any new codes. This is the command line box that flashes as the first computer that opens that day launches PracticeWorks the first time.
Now that the CDT 2020 codes have been added to the server and made available, you'll receive a prompt once that utility does its next run. The date of the next run depends on when the last time it ran, as it automatically triggers every 7 days. you can see the Last date it ran the check by looking in the Pwglobal.ini file located in the pworks data folder on the server. It will be located in the section [CDTCodes] under the entry "LastVersionCheck= ".
When that prompt comes up it will say:
"The CDT 2020 Code set is available.
Click OK to install.
Click Cancel to delate until next month.
Note: You will be prompted each time you open PracticeWorks today unless another user selects to install."
Here you can click OK to install or Cancel to postpone for a month. If you postpone it will update two entries in the pwglobal.ini "CDTSnoozeDate= " and CDTSnoozeDateSet= ".
Since it is already the middle of December, a month postpone would technically set it in the middle of January, however, it actually sets the CDTSnoozeDate to 01/01/2020 so it will prompt you to install again the first day the office is open again after new years.
If you go ahead and install now it will install the 2020 code set. Changing the selection radial on the code list to say either CDT 2020 or Other.
Any codes that are being inactivated with the 2020 codes will be moved from into the "Other" list, but they will not be marked inactive. This way you can continue to use them if needed.
If you have any other questions about it let us know.
