Caries not displayed over an existing restoration

We just noticed that when a patient has an existing restoration charted and that tooth has caries, the caries will not be displayed. Is there a way to remedy this?  Is there a setting in charting?  Clearly this is not desirable behavior.

Perhaps the restoration color is masking the caries. I tested with an existing crown (green) and charted caries (black) . The caries are visible on the chart and documented in notes. Please see attachment.

That's what I was going to suggest. Usually if the practice set pathologies color to red, it won't show. but Setting color to black will show. This is found in CS PracticeWorks Charting Configuration under Set up > Hard Tissue > Chart colors

I discovered the problem. The caries were posted in the chart the day before the existing restoration was posted. This is an unusual situation but the existing restoration going in the day after wiped out the decay; this makes sense...
