Charting and Treatment Plans

Looking for suggestions!   We are trying to go paperless and trying to find the easiest way to make sure everyone is on the same page.  We are so used to looking at a paper tx sheet where everything is in one place.  How have other offices made this transition?    When a new patient comes in and we treatment plan all proposed work, how do other offices use the tx plan tab.  Do you sequence all proposed tx and accept it all, or do you create quadrant specific proposed treatment.   Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Re: Charting and Treatment Plans

Just like when learning to read a paper chart, team members get used to reading the electronic chart. It is just a different place to look, but it becomes second nature.

Specifically in regards to treatment plans,  I recommend people create one treatment plan and sequence the visits. If you create one treatment plan per quadrant, you can only view one treatment plan at a time in the chart. If you need quadrant treatment plans for printing purposes, you can temporarily create treatment plans, copy the appropriate treatment into the plan, and print it out. These quadrant plans can be deleted after printing.

When we do training with an office going paperless, we always go through workflow so that everyone is on the same page as to what they are looking for and where to look for it. Again, it becomes second nature, just like reading a paper chart.
