Solved! Go to Solution.
Create it!
To have an character appear on the tooth do the following. Create a note. In the Grouping put Graphic; In the Summary area enter Graphic-Ext or whatever name you prefer; In the Note Text write Extraction Graphic; In the Display character(s) enter your character ( Try a capital X in bold. Parallel lines can be used for a Diastema) check the display char in bold box if you prefer; In the Show Display Character(s), mark Display on soft tissue chart. Click ok to save.
Test it!
Next select the tooth. Click on Note and choose your Graphic note, click ok. You should now see your graphic character on the tooth of the perio chart. Now print and you will see your image on the print out.
How to remove the character
Since the extraction is planned once it is actually completed you can remove the character. Simply go to the progress notes, make correction to the note, edit note content and turn off the graphic by unchecking to display area. Do not remove the entry! The entry should stay in the progress notes with date. Treat the electronic chart just like you would paper.
If the item is treatment planned you can make it print out on the perio chart in the notes section as well by selecting the option Hope this helps

Be cautious, the display character will also work but you need to make
sure that once you decide on using a character you do not use that same
character for multiple purposes as it will lose its unique meaning. As the
parallel lines are in use for Diastema "out of the box" pick changing it
will not update previously marked diastemas if you have previously used
the diastema parallel lines. This can create confusion as you have one
display character with multiple meanings.
