I have seen someone else ask this question before, but never seen it answered. It would be really nice to be able to have the option to decline a Treatment plan. When you don't have an actual paper that says that patient doesn't want to proceed with the treatment, it would be nice to have a place in the computer to have it on record that we did propose a treatment plan, but the patient has declined it. That way if there was a time when a patient says that we didn't tell them about a needed treatment, we can prove that we took the necessary steps.

Hello Tatyana, (robertwagner16)
Unfortunantely this is not a feature being added in the upcoming PracticeWorks version 8. However, It has been entered as a possible future addition into the software.
In the mean time, while we can't mark it as declined in the system, we do suggest that for declined treatment plans that the summary/title of the plan be changed to add the word "declined", and then marked completed, so it will not interfere with creating and accepting future treatment plans. This will allow you as an office to see that a plan was declined when viewing the Tx plan list on the patient's clipboard or chart.
It may be possible as well to pull a list of those treatment plans with just the title "Declined" or any other specific phrase, using a custom expert. It would have to use a specific phrase to be able to pull those tx plans.

this is what we do.
@jdowner Has this been implemented in any of the versions since 8.0 ?
There have not been any changes towards this as of yet.
Another feature that would be tremendously helpful is to be able to schedule from any incomplete treatment plan, not just the oldest. For example: A patient came in to our office this morning with a crown broken off at the gumline. We entered a treatment plan for endo, post/core, crown. He is maxed for 2018, so he opted to wait until January to have this work performed.
Our receptionist could not schedule this treatment from the treatment plan, because of an existing treatment plan from August for two fillings that he also needs (but was putting off until 2019).
I really like this idea! We typically add a yellow sticky note stating that the patient declined the treatment plan, but I end up with multiple open treatment plans for the same patient. This sounds like a great solution!
Thank you for answering my question!
