Posting Medical Codes to Charting Buttons

Can this feature be enabled? No reason why it would be disabled...

For practices such as ours doing medical billing for sleep apnea and tmp tx, we need to be able to chart those procedures.

Any update on this? Our practice posts medical codes for sleep apnea treatment and a few oral surgery procedures. It would be extremely helpful to us if there was a way.

Unfortunately because we needed a way to create clinical notes and generate claims, we have another program that runs parallel to PW. We use PW to schedule and for AR.  PW has the ability to post medical codes, we haven’t found a way to do the codes through the chart therefore the codes are posted manually through the appt or upon check out.

The other program generates the clinical notes and insurance billing through that program. This may sound complicated, which it isn’t rather than having two programs for AR - all is found in PW.

@carolyn621 @joedindo Have either of you found a way to force PW to keep the appropriate code for a sleep apnea appliance?  I get an error message every time I try to make the first character an "E".

Our solution is not perfect but appropriate for internal use as we outsource billing medical.

We created a medical code 00486 and put in the description this text: "Sleep Appliance E0486"

Hope this makes sense.

Got it.  I send out the medical claims myself, so I will just keep using white-out on the first zero.  Thanks for the tip!

I have all the templates in a Word document so we are in good shape there. We only need PW Charting to work with the medical codes...

Anyone at Carestream?  Is there a workaround?
