Our experience with printing clinical notes does not allow all of the note to print. Rather the margin setting within @PracticeWorks cannot be reset for the printer. This happens whether it is for plain paper or for transcription labels.
Any suggestions on how to print the entire note without copying and pasting. That is too time consuming and we should not have to resort to that.
Solved! Go to Solution.
You did not mention if you have gone into PracticeWorks configuration of charting module?
Start> All programs ( or windows key)> CS PracticeWorks> Configuration of Charting module.
Go to Documents > Patient Charting or Transcription labels
Adjust registration. I would assume go negative if it's cutting off. Going postive will increase. You also reduce the font size .
Another thought is use PDF writer and then print to paper.
Change the printer to a PDF writer type ( these are what I have) but you may also see adobe pdf writer if you have it installed.
You will need to choose were to save it on your computer.
Some workarounds until more chime in.
@carolyn621 This topic was addressed by @joedindo several weeks (or maybe months) ago. I can't remember which CS employee posted a solution, but I tried it and it worked.
More and more insurance companies are requiring notes, can we please have this fixed?
I have a question. Is giving a work around to a known problem for several years really a solution? Seems to be more work for us if we remember how to do. Why not just fix it?
I did check out the suggestion and with a few minor changes in the settings, hopefully the entire note will print. It must be Transcription Labels rather than Plain Paper.. Additional changes to the print settings were made; final setting is -60. Further than that, the date is cut off. Thank you - it was driving me crazy because the notes looked incomplete or words could be perceived as not completely spelled out. Many thanks!

@tsalcido This still doesn't work. I went as far left as I could and it is not fitting.
The first highlight should have "g the bite". If you drop straight down from that highlighted area, there is text printed over that far that should encompass those 8 characters plus 2 spaces. Makes no sense. Text is missing from the second highlighted area as well. Why does this not wrap down into the next line?
This is not even a "page margin" issue - clearly there is plenty of room on the right side of the page, and I even have it in landscape format.
THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED ASAP.
@jdowner tagging you to see if you have any suggestions for this. If not, I'll get it sent to development.
Here's a little better illustration of what I was saying about dropping straight down. If the text prints that far over in that area, why not in the first area?
Hello @sonyap
The issue with it cutting off on the right margin when printing progress notes within the charting module is a known issue that started after one of the Windows 10 updates a few years ago. There isn't a fix for it at this time. However, there is a workaround.
Open the Charting module in stand-alone (from the Start menu). Highlight the needed patient and click "Print Transcription labels."
Make sure to change the selection at the top to "current patient", put in the needed date range and other options needed.
Click Print.
This will correctly print the progress notes.
Thanks @jdowner . It does appear that the right margin vertical cut-off is resolved, but now there is a horizontal cut-off in various places. The other hurdle I am encountering is that none of the admin contacts are showing up. I have to print ALL of the patient's records to send to an attorney and neither one of these options are accomplishing that 100%.
