Refreshing page practice works

Some of our computers are not automatically refreshing the appointment page.  It may look like every patient is "late" instead of updating when the check-in or are seated, etc.  Any ideas on how to fix this?  It just started happening.  We haven't had this before.  Thanks for any help!

Re: Refreshing page practice works

Hello

The Auto Refresh rate for the Appointment Book is controlled by several settings on the Configuration ("Green") Screen. Follow these steps to adjust them:

  1. Exit from  PracticeWorks on the needed workstations.
  2. Click Start Programs > PracticeWorks > Configuration of  CS PracticeWorks.
  3. On the Configuration screen, click Setup > General Configuration.
  4. Click the "+" beside "Preferences."
  5. Click the "+" beside "Appointment Book."
  6. Click the  "+" beside "Display."
  7. Click Auto Refresh check frequency (in seconds).
  8. In the "Value" window which opens down below, select "3" (for 3 seconds) to speed up the Auto Refresh, or choose a higher number to slow it down, as needed.
  9. Above the "Value" window, select either "Setting for this workstation" or "Setting for all workstations," as needed.
  10. Click Save entry.
  11. Click Force refresh of appt page at each Auto refresh check.
  12. In the "Value" window which opens down below, select "Yes."
  13. Above the "Value" window, select either "Setting for this workstation" or "Setting for all workstations," as needed.
  14. Click Save entry.

Please note that if the refresh rate is set too fast, it may make the appointment book appear to flash or flicker.  However, if it's too long, that machine will not get the updated status of appointments in a timely manner, which is similar to what you're experiencing now.
