Search for next available appointment?

Jump to solution

Is there a way to search for the next available appointment by assigned color? We are trying to implement a system where we block out two hour slots for new patients each week in the bright blue color. So instead of clicking through each day 'x' months or days out to find the blue block can we set up a report, search by color, or anything of that sort? Thanks!

Greta,

Currently there isn't a way to look specifically for one block type when scheduling, but the appointment expert may assist in narrowing your search results for you.

By right clicking on a floating yellow appointment, you have a choice for Appointment Expert.

Selecting this option brings up a search criteria window.

If you are setting up those new patient blocks on a specific day, specific chair or at certain times of day, you can narrow your search results with this feature.

Once you click begin search, it will start showing you search results and give options on how to proceed.

This may not be a full solution, but should at least assist in what you are trying to accomplish.

Not to step on Robert's toes, but there actually IS a way to accomplish this.  As long as the specific block book definition you assign to that color allows ONLY new patients, and you have the "Tx class" of the appt in question marked as "New Patient", the software will recognize that the appointment you are trying to schedule is allowed in that time slot and should take you there.

It will take you to the first available appointment that meets the criteria. If there is a block on the day it takes you to, it will match up with it, but if there is a day without a block available earlier, it will take you there first. If there are any other blocks that also allow for new patient visits available earlier, it will bring them up as an option first as well.
