I am very new to PracticeWorks. We are trying to upgrade the PW server running on a Windows 7 Professional SP1. The installation starts but stops after a command prompt pops up then the error below.
The error: "The install program found DDF files, but could not locate VERDATA.DAT. Please call Support."
Anyone here has had a similar error? and if so what are we doing wrong.
Upgrading PW 7.9 Server to version 10.0.

That message usually indicates that the path to the data folder in the registry on the server is not pointed correctly.
The simplest fix for it will be to run the workstation/application setup from the current wsetup folder. This will be located in \pworks\data\wsetup and you'll run the setup.exe | Application file.
once it completes, you can attempt to run the update installer again on the server and it should be able to successfully update.
You may end up needing a release code to update from v7.9 to v10. You'll need to call in to support to get that release code at that time.
