Option for Gender X instead of exclusively Male or Female in the chart

Option for Gender X instead of exclusively Male or Female in the chart

Option for a patient to be Gender X instead of exclusively Male or Female in the chart

Gender X encompasses not being exclusively male or female, including, but not limited to, intersex, agender, amalgagender, androgynous, bigender, demigender, female-to-male, genderfluid, genderqueer, male-to-female, neutrois, nonbinary, pangender, third sex, transgender, transsexual, Two Spirit, and unspecified

For letters instead of converting male/female to he/she gender x would convert to they/them For prefix we will need Mx which is also considered gender neutral.  These options should apply to both patients and responsible parties

Legally, we need our records to match birth certificates and drivers license - both offer a non binary option in our state.

Doctors need to know if their patient is Male or Female for pharmaceutical reasons among others.  Perhaps place in the notes for the patient, that they are gender X?

Gender X is suitable; The medical history would show any relevance of gender; ie if the patient is on hormone therapy. The front desk does not need to know the patient's medical history. The pharmacies can catch up to the rest of us.
