Hi
In the latest update to be used there is mention that the '1441' code for fissure sealant will become a 'band 2' treatment.
I am not aware that the NHS England guidance has changed as this was always included as 'band 1 ' treatment.
Unless NHS England are about to make an announcement I feel that code 1441 should still be part of band 1.
If you could clarify this that would be great.
Many Thanks
Peter
Hi Peter please see the response from our L3 team.
I suspect this will come down to a categorization issue. The below link breaks down what should be Band 1 and what should be Band 2 in terms of sealants.

If this does not answer your question please come back to us.

Hi
Thanks for your reply and I have read the guidance you directed me too.
A 1441 code is a fissure sealant and should therefore be a 'band 1'.
Your update guidance states however :-
1441 (Carious Lesion sealant Only) are now classed in R4+ as Fillings in regard to Banding Charges, so the new Band 2(B)(C) rules now apply to them
I feel that is incorrect and a 1441 code fissure sealant should be Band 1.
Sorry for being picky but there will potentially be a lot of dentists claiming incorrectly.
Thanks
Peter
Hello Peter,
We're currently discussing this with the NHSBSA and for the time being we would recommend code 701 instead of 1441.
As soon as we have more information, we will be back in contact.
Thank you again for your post.
Kind Regards,
Danni
