Adding a GDP address to R4

Hi,

I work for a community dentist which uses the PDS referral information to denote which of our internal dental clinics the patient is assigned to, not the referring dentist. This means that when my dentist wishes to generated a 'return to GDP' letter under letter templates she is unable to have the GDP address inserted automatically.

Is there a way I can add the patient's GDP address into R4 in a different location which can work with the letter templates?

Sure, once you open the template there should be an "add-ins" tab at the top of the document, then you'll get an option to insert various merge fields from R4.

There's a PDF which our training team created which also gives some more info which can be found here

Hope that helps and I hope you're finding the new exchange community pages useful!

Thanks Simon....managed to find  the "add-in" end. However.....I am still unsure where to enter the 3rd party address for GDP so that it will appear in the drop down option in the "add-in" section in Word. Remember I said that the R4 we're using is configured to only enter own internal dental clinics.

Hi Alex, might be best if I get one of the support team to give you a ring and see if they can get this all sorted for you.

If you hover over my profile name, there's an option to send me a message, if you send your number over I'll get someone to give you a ring.

Many thanks

Simon

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the question. Unfortunately there is no secondary address field that can be used for this purpose. There is however a section within R4 where you are able to add third party contacts which may be suitable for you?

This is found from the home screen by clicking edit > remote contact maintenance and add a new dentist to refer patients to.

This can then be used as a merge field which can be added into a new template via document manager.

As there are a few steps involved to set this up, you may want to give our support desk a call if you get stuck!

I hope this helps

Simon

Brilliant and thanks for the quick response. Do you also know how I can insert a field into the letter template?
