IMPORTANT INFORMATION – PLEASE READ
You may be aware that NHS England, together with the NHS BSA, have requested several urgent changes to the EDI claim process. As a result, they have stipulated that all dental practice management suppliers must implement these changes in a very short timeframe, stating that they must be in place by the 1st of October. Standard practice for such changes is for the NHS to give a period of six months’ notice; but despite the late notice and subsequent push back by the dental software suppliers association (DSSA), NHS England are still insisting on the original implementation date of the 1st October. Obviously, this request is far from ideal, and only allows the BSA and ourselves a few weeks to complete the necessary development work and testing before releasing a new version of R4+ (v8.1.14), so that our customers are updated and compliant ahead of this tight deadline.
As a result of this decision, our development teams are working hard to complete the work involved in finalising the R4+ v8.1.14 update, which is likely to be made available for release on Thursday the 22nd of September. However, this may slip if any further changes are required. This only gives our customers a strict period of eight days to update their R4+ software in readiness for the 1st of October 2022 implementation date.
This limited timeframe may mean that not all customers will be able to update their systems by the correct date. If you have not been able to update R4+ to v8.1.14 between the release date and go live, we advise you to cease transmission of all NHS claims generated on or after the 1st of October - this will avoid any potential EDI claim rejections. Claims will need to be left in a “Not Ready” state until such time that the R4 V8.1.14 update has been applied, the claims can then be made “Ready”, and transmissions can resume as normal.
The update will be live on our platform, https://softwaredownload.csdental.com/en-GB, on the 22nd September. We have extended our support opening hours until 20:00 from this date and will also be available on Saturday 24th September and 1st October to help customers should there be any issues.
