Shadow of film on image

Jump to solution

On our CS7600 it appears that there is something causing a shadow on the images. It appears like a film is stuck in the machine, but we can't see anything.

Hi,

you have a plate stuck in the laser cavity in the scan head. This is normally caused by either using third party sheaths (no foam alignment strip) or the plate being partially removed from the sheath prior to insertion into the unit.

Please contact the support team on

03300948194 - option 2 they can arrange for the unit to come in for repair. unfortunately, there is no way for the user to safely retrieve the plate from where it is.

hi, the plate has been exposed to light before insertion into the scanner. however part of the plate the dark part was covered by what looks like another plate.

Possible scenario would be that this image is one of a pair of bitewings. The user has taken the first plate out of the sheath whilst walking to the machine and held the second plate partially over the top.

Normally what we see is a thumb shape in this type of image but that definitely looks like the outline of another plate or sheath.

Hope that helps.

This one is weirder! The part where the shape of the film is, is better resolution than the rest? Also, this is a different scanner.
