What are all the Keyboard shortcuts on R4+?

Jump to solution

Hi all

after using r4+ for a few weeks now, ive noticed  that unlike other software systems its very keyboard and clicking orientated with little mouse over actions or drag and drops.

To speed up workflow i was wondering what keyboard shortcuts are available? I noticed F7 for treatment planning in the help files. So im assuming there must be loads more i dont know about?

And id like to double check, is there anyway to make to quicker charting options using the mouse. such as when input the mouse over the tooth commonly used baseline/treatment items appear? (Ie amalgam caries etc)

Dear Ismail,

Glad you like the Quick Text Entry in the treatment plan, it isn't possible to add planned appointments in that functionality, it is however possible to use the keyboard to add them by doing the following:

1. Press 'ctrl+alt+T' this will open the tools menu.

2. Either use the down arrow key to navigate to  the option for 'Add Planned Appointment', or press 'ctrl+alt+M'.

3. The Appointment Need screen will open.

4. Use either the arrow keys or the first letter of the appointment type to navigate to the one that you want to select.

5. Use the tab key to navigate through the other options and populate them as necessary.

6. Once all the necessary information is populated press the tab key until 'OK' is highlighted and then press the enter key.

7. The planned appointment will be added.

The above highlights another short cut key function, on all menu's within the patients chart there will be an underlined letter, this denotes that you can select this option by pressing ctrl+alt+the letter. This opens the menu and you can either carry on using the ctrl+alt+the letter functionality or you can use the arrow keys to navigate through the menus.

Hope the above helps.

Kind Regards

Jon

Dear Ismail,

Thanks for your question, I don't have an exhaustive list of the shortcut keys in CS R4+, our training team may have, stephenskelton‌ can advise if they do. But there are a lot of them and you can see what they are by looking at the menu items at the top of the screen. For example you can switch through the tabs in chart with the following F Keys.

Personal tab = F4

Baelines Charting = F5

Periodontal charting = F6

Treatment Planning = F7

Soft Tissue Exam = F8

Medical = F9

Appointments = F11

Communications = F12

Also Ctrl+P will print the baseline chart/treatment plan dependant on which you are viewing at the time.

There are also a lot in the appointment book such as Ctrl+W opening the Waiting List, Ctrl+K opening the week view.

Hope this gives you a flavour as to what can be done. With regards your question about quicker charting have you tried the quick text entry? There is a very useful section on this in the help guide, simply press F1 in any CS R4+ screen and type 'shortcut' into the search, pick the result that is called 'charting by text' and this gives an explanation of what you can do.

Have a great weekend.

Jon

We do not have an exhaustive list of the shortcut codes that are available in R4, but as Jon has mentioned, where keyboard shortcuts are available in the menus they are listed on the right-hand side.

Regards

Stephen
