e-Signature pads turning black

Hi everyone,

I am wondering if we are having an e-signature pad problem or a pc problem

Our pad on reception, when the NHS patients check in to sign their FP17PRW forms - as soon as the patient goes to sign - it turns dark blue, then black, then turns the main pc screen black, then pad comes back on with form sometimes, and other times the form and signature box is on the main pc screen!!!!

It has done it with every patient so far this morning.

I have tried disconnecting the usbs and reconnecting but no change

We have a similar issue with our pads and my suspicion is that it is caused by the usb connection being disturbed when handling the pad. I have resorted to taping the usb connector tightly to the pad. We recently got 3 more pads and they are new versions (1141B) with a far better connector that locks the usb plug firmly to the pad. So far these have not caused any black screens.

Unfortunately it is not currently possible to edit the template while the patient is signing the form. if you think this would make a good change to the system please log a suggestion on the product ideas page of this website: https://community.carestreamdental.com/t5/PRODUCT-IDEAS/idb-p/practicemanagementideas

It is possible however to create your own custom templates on the R4 system (introduced in version 6.6) 
Please see attached guide for how to setup your own templates.
