Alpha payor ID

Jump to solution

I have been coming across more and more insurance companies that use alpha payor ID's. When I try to send electronic claims they fail verification so I have always just sent them on paper. It hasn't happened so often that I felt the need to contact support so thought I would ask the community. How do you submit electronic claims for insurance plans that use alpha payor ID's?

In SoftDent, all the payor ID's will be entered in via a numeric ID.  That numeric ID is translated in our system to the appropriate alpha numeric ID as required for electronic transactions.  To find the appropriate payor ID to use in SD, you can run a report of those ID's by doing the following:

  1. In SoftDent click Insurance in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
  2. Select Electronic Services at the bottom of the drop-down menu.
  3. After Electronic Services opens, select the grey Reports button on the left hand side.
  4. Choose Payer Report.
  5. The Payer report can be Printed or Print Previewed.

Alternatively, we have a list of Payor ID's you can find on our website at this link:  http://www.carestreamdental.com/ImagesFileShare/.sitecore.media_library.Files.Practice_Management.eS...

Lisa,

If you can't find the company on our payer list(sometimes we have them under a different name or an abbreviated name, UCCI for example, which is United Concordia) you can call our support department and we can lookup the payer ID based on the Alpha ID you give us. If it is on our list, we can tell you the corresponding payer ID number.
