"this list of payer IDs (the drop down numerical IDs ) are the only ones to be used in Softdent as they are assigned by our clearing houses
the alphanumerical IDs that you may get from insruance companies cant be used in Softdent , sometimes we have a numerical equivalent for that Id from the list but sometimes we don't
you can use this PDF to check for payer IDs

if you cant find the insurance company in this list you can use
A PAPER CLAIM - BC/BS 99999
A PAPER CLAIM - COMMERCIAL 00004
A PAPER CLAIM - DELTA DENTAL 99997
A PAPER CLAIM - MEDICAID 99998
then clearing house will print and send or forward electronically "
