Suddenly Carefirst is not on the list as electronically capable. What the heck? Using the payor ID 00580 and even calling Carefirst directly and verifying that the ID correct and that they ARE ECS., has not helped us. Is anyone else having this problem? We called the Clearing house that does the electronic claims (Change Healthcare) and they are saying it's a Softdent issue. This affects multiple patients. Right now we are printing and mailing claims, but this is not a long term solution.
Call Electronic Services directly. The worst case scenario is that you code Softdent to send electronically but ES then converts to paper and sends directly to Carefirst. There is a specific "payor id" code that is for paper.
