I am trying to learn to better utilize the reports that come with softdent.
I am trying to run a tickler report and I have noticed there are so many patients with apts in the tickler that need to be just deleted. But right now I am running the reports then going into each patients chart then other management tickler then delete. Is there a way to delete all tickler appointments that were made prior to a certain date? Your help will be appreciated
Solved! Go to Solution.
Yes, you can delete a date range. Go to List > Tickler file. On the left margin it says ...Delete Range. When you click on this > a window opens for you to enter date. I would suggest doing it by 6 months at a time, so it goes fairly quick. Also, if you do not know how old the oldest entry is - Look at top border of list > you can sort by "date filed"- this will let you know how far back it goes.
Many people just dump appointments into tickler and do not use it properly - try to get in a habit of looking when the tickler opens - can you book it or keep it or delete it?
Hope this helps!
thank you so much that really helps. Is there a way to do the same thing with old treatment plans like do a bulk archive of treatment plans made within a date range. Basically we have not been utilizing our reports and I want to. But there is a lot of clean up I need to do
You can have support run a utility called Delete Treatment Plans. This utility will delete unaccepted or accepted/not scheduled TP transactions within a date range. Have the date range ready. Run the Practice Management report. Reports>Practice Management> Treatment Plans> Detailed Breakdown. The oldest date defaults. You dont' have to run it just look at the age
To archive a treatment plan is one patient and one treatment plan group at a time. It is easiest to group the items first ( like 86) and then archive.
How to archive through the patient chart
I have found that I can use Shift + mouse click in the chart Treatment planning tab to grab several procedures at once, right click and change group it is the fastest.
1. Go to a chart and click on the Treatment Planning Tab
2. Highlight the first line by left clicking. Then go to the bottom item and hold Shift + Left mouse click. All of the lines that are in that section are now selected. Now right click on top of the blue. You of course can click one item at a time and follow the same steps.
3. Click on Change TP Group
4. Go over to the icons on the left and click Change State. Tooth with green check.
The rest of the wording
5. Click the last item under State-Declined- Moved and enter the primary group # that is being archived.
6. Click ok and the item(s) have been archived.
7. To view Archived treatment, click the Archived icon
How to archive from the patient record
1. In the patients Treatment plan edit a procedure and change the group # ( like 86).
2. Under the treatment plan options click change state.
3. Under State, scroll to the last item. Declined-Move
4. Enter the group # you want to archive
5. Click ok and the item(s) have been archived.
Hope that helps.
