We see patients for different treatment courses like our normal hygiene and cosmetic dentistry patients, but we also see sleep apnea patients, and are now seeing more of an increase in referred in patients from a local VA clinic. These patients are not 'grouped' or in anyway differentiated from each other in our Softdent and it is causing an issue with our recall feature of Solutionreach. The sleep patients and VA patients do not need to be on the Solutionreach recall list because it causes confusing. Does anyone know the best/most effective way to differentiate each patient without manually entering a code into each person's chart? After there has been a distinguishing code or something in Softdent, I think I can run a report on Solutionreach to not include these patients on their recall efforts. Thanks in advance!
Solved! Go to Solution.
dental3208, have you thought of entering an "N" in the patient User Code field for those patients. Patient User Code "N" indicates that the patient will not receive recall notices. Please see the PDF document below for all SoftDent default Patient User Codes.
Please let me know if this helps.
Hmm, yes we could do that. We do use 'i' already, but its more of being
able to tell different types of patients from others. Using the 'n' will
definitely help when I run the report to change the recall from 6 to 0

Right now I've made a new 'Diagnostic Code' for the sleep patients (SP) and
started to use that in their profile to differentiate them from others.
Then I was going to run the report with that specific diagnostic code and
figure out which patients are both sleep and hygiene patients and then
input the 'n' into the patients who are only sleep so they don't get the

Sounds like you've got it handled now. You can run a patient User Selected report and identify those patients with the "N" User code to see who has the specific User Code. Please feel free to let me know how this works for you.
Hi Chris, I just tried to run a User Selected report to get a list of the
patients that I just inputted the new 'SP' ADA code for but can't seem to
figure out how to include just the first and last name of the patient with
that code. After I figure that out, I will be able to determine which of
those patients need to be included on the recall list and which ones don't.
Thanks for the help!

Just place the x next to the criteria that you would like to see on the report. Some criteria will require values where as the first and last name criterias should not.
Okay, I tried that. Is there a way to add to the 'General' category? When I
edited the sleep patients' I used a Default Diagnosis Code, but it never
asked me to assign it to a number. We just assigned that code to a new
number, but I'm not sure how to proceed now. I created the report with the
first and last name, but the transaction code or ADA code isn't showing up
for me to select it.
