TransFirst merchant services (the credit card processor for Carestream DPMS products) has discovered that some credit card transactions that were processed on 11/8/2016 were duplicated on 11/10/2016.
TransFirst is looking into the cause of the problem and is taking the necessary actions to reverse these charges. There is no action required on the provider's end.
If patients question the duplicate charges, please explain that the an issue occurred at the credit card processing vendor and that they are taking the necessary steps to reverse the charges.

The affected dates for the duplicate transactions would have been for charges that took place on 11/08/16. Visa and Mastercard transactions were duplicated on 11/10/16, and a handfull of Mastercard transactions were charged a 3rd time on the 12th. Reversal files have been sent directly to Visa and Mastercard, The Visa reversals were sent on 11/11/16 and the Mastercard reversals were sent on 11/13/16. The customers should start to see the reversals within the next 2 business days.
