Electronic Prescriptions (eRx) Temporary Outage 5/13/2021

The electronic prescription service is temporarily down.  Carestream Dental is working with the service provider to restore functionality as quickly as possible.  We are hopeful that service will be restored shortly. Please continue trying to access the system to check for availability.

Paul, glad it was restored.  There are lots of offices on the East Coast that close at 5 PM, and therefore have to figure out a workaround for the service interruption yesterday.  If this was just a "one-off" service interruption, that's one thing.  However, all one has to do is look at your profile and notice that there are a plethora of "service interruption" notices going back just a few months.  Yes, it's nice that users are notified, hopefully just a temporary, of this type of interruption.  

This is happening much more than most of us should have to put up with ... this type of service issue may prompt users to look elsewhere for more reliable service.  And those of us who are waiting for the "big announcement" are getting very cynical, like myself, that it is just fluff and pastries ...

Dr Cavola, 

I completely understand your frustration due to this service interruption with electronic prescriptions.  Unfortunately, the cause of the outage extended beyond the scope of Carestream Dental.  This was an unplanned outage that occurred at the service provider.    

We notified the service provider immediately upon the discovery of the outage and we remained in constant communication with them throughout the day to receive status updates.  We take these incidents very seriously as we realize that outages cause a serious inconvenience for our clients.
