Guarantor not a patient

Jump to solution

I am drawing a complete blank on this! I have an account set up for a minor whose parent is the account guarantor. Now the guarantor wants to be seen as a patient. Do I go to the account and select "patients" and add from there? I am stumped and shouldn't be!

Hello,

That would be correct. Once you add the Guarantor as a patient, you can

then link the insurance under the insurance tab.

If you are actively scheduling, at the bottom of the New Patient Appointment screen is the "Add patient to existing account" field.  Simply pull down, enter the account number of that Guarantor.  It will attach any patient, but in this case the Guarantor who is your new patient to the account for which he is the Guarantor.  If you are simply adding the patient but not scheduling at this point, Go to the Account screen and select Add with the red plus sign to the left, this will open a new patient screen under that account and simply enter the information.
