How is Cloud working for people?

Our office is a long time (20+ years) SoftDent office. I have been asked by our doctors to look into SoftDent Cloud. Our primary issue is speed. For those of you using Cloud, did you notice a difference in how fast screens and charts loaded? What is your overall impression of Cloud vs. regular SoftDent?

We are looking to do the same, also would appreciate feed back from those using the cloud.  Will our secure Outlook email work with the cloud when forwarding x-rays to specialist?  Can you run a utility from a work station to fix a corrupt file?

e have been on the cloud for a few years now.  We have 25 work stations and have been an SD user for 15 years.  Going to the cloud significantly increased the speed of the software.  You have to make sure you have the highest available internet service though. It is also expensive since you pay per workstation for the cloud.  It is about $1500 per month for us.  Also there are some features that DO NOT work in the cloud such as medical history imports( if you use that ) and the care credit integration has not worked for us.  Also we used to use Practice Mojo for our reminder service and after the move to the cloud it no longer worked.  We now use lighthouse 360 and it works.  The cloud definitely was the right move for our office, but be sure to ask the reps about any integrations between your other software systems.  Ask about scanners, signature pads, imaging if you use carestream, rx, reminders, ebilling eclaims, eposting. Everything!

  • Up time for SD in 2018 was 99.98%
  • Up time for SD in 2019 is 100%!
