How to change efiling defaults for insurance

Jump to solution

We are using SoftDent 16.2.8.

We do the following to create claims:

* go into the patient's transactions

* press the letter 'i'

* the next popup allows us to choose the dates, and then we click ok

* the next screen is the claim info. After changing anything we need to change, we click 'ok'

* the next popup has the 'Submit Electronically' check box, defaulted to checked.

Is there a way to have that 'Submit Electronically' check box default to unchecked?

Thanks!

Disable ECS Capability

  1. Click List in the main menu bar.
  2.  Select Ins. Plan.
  3.  Double-click on the insurance plan in the list .
  4.  Select the Claim Filing tab.
  5.  Place a check in the boxes labeled "ECSCapable Primary, ECSCapable Secondary, and ECS Capable Preauth"
  6.  Click OK to save the changes

if you wish to remove all payer IDs from insurance companies and that will gray-out the ECS capable options in all plans we can a stand alone utility to do that

From the SD Help:  Submitted Dental Claims

If you use the Electronic Claim Service (ECS) you are prompted to submit the claim electronically.  Click OK to submit the claim electronically.

Looks like the only way to default to unchecked is to NOT use ECS.  Is there any reason why you want to print a dental claim?

We are trying out a new claims submission company.

Good day.  Where can I get a copy of this utility??  We support many claim solutions for offices & ES, SD & PW seem to be the most cumbersome when it comes to just printing claims to a 3rd party.  Any help is appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

Hello @ayman I would be interested in the stand-alone utility to uncheck ECS for our system. We don't use it and I'm afraid often our claims get lost in the ECS ether.

We are using SoftDent 18

Thank you for your response. I was hoping for a way to just change the checkbox to default to unchecked for every plan without actually changing every plan, but at least now I know I can stop searching for a way to do that.
