How does the hygienist get assigned in the patient screen?

@tshaw @ayman is there any way to clear and reset all patients to a specific hygienist #?

Yes, there is a way to assign all patients to a specific Hygienist number.

First, make sure you have a VALID backup.

Exit from SoftDent on ALL computers.

Access CS SoftDent Utilities found either on your desktop or within  Start >  All Programs > CS SoftDent Software > CS SoftDent Utilities.   This may differ slightly depending on what operating system you are using. 

Login with a capable user name that allows access to Utilities.

Click on Maintenance on the menu bar

Go down to Change Doctor.  This  will allow you to set or replace a new Doctor or Hygienist on existing Accounts and/or Patients.

Read the screen carefully and enter the previous Hygienist provider number as well as the new Hygienist provider number in the appropriate fields.   You may have to run this several times if you have a few former Hygienist in the practice that you want replaced.

Also, keep in mind it may take some time so you may not want to run this if you need to get back into SoftDent relatively soon.   

You do NOT have to run this utility on the server, however you may want to run this on the fastest computer in your office for the best results.

If you don't feel comfortable running utilities, our Support Technicians can help you do this, but as Judy said, you will need everyone to log out of SoftDent so it can be done.  

Just let us know and we can get you an appointment scheduled.
