My office has been working more frequently with orthodontic claims lately and I'm entirely confused on how they work. Does anyone have any tips or documents to help me set up the ortho billing plan?
We ask that ortho is paid in full so in some cases I don't need to use it. However, when insurance is involved, we ask the patient pays their portion in full, and their insurance typically pays monthly. I can't seem to figure out how to work this out.
Every time I think I set it up correctly, I get monthly debit charges that add to the account balance. No idea how to fix this. Once insurance pays in full I end up having to write off a large amount and it just becomes a mess.
Any tips would be appreciated. Thank you!!!
