I have a new hygienist and we are trying to set up her perio path and we keep getting an error message saying Invalid path specification. Could someone please help me get this set up. Thank you

1. Open any patient chart.
2. Switch to
PERIO mode.asmith_0-1650039534854.png

3. Click Perio in the main menu bar.
4. Select
Options.asmith_1-1650039534800.png

5. Click Path within versions 10.0 and higher. Within versions SOFTDENT Software v9.8 or previous click Perio Path.asmith_2-1650039534833.png

6. Enter the user defined perio path in the available boxes. Several different paths can be defined.

  • FL: Indicates that the path starts on the facial surface and moves toward the left side of the mouth
  • FR: Indicates that the path starts on the facial surface and moves toward the right side of the mouth.
  • LL: Indicates that the path starts on the lingual surface and moves toward the left side of the mouth.
  • LR: Indicates that the path starts on the lingual surface and moves toward the right side of the mouth.

7. Click OK to save changes.

Hardest thing is to place a comma (,) between tooth numbers and NO space.
Usually if it doesn't work - you have an extra space or no comma.
Hope this helps.

Also - you can use Path 1, Path 2, or path 3 and just leave Arch as main path. It is workstation specific.
