Reconcile Patient balance to Account balance

I have old records where payments were entered on the account instead of the patient screen.  The account is -0- but a balance remains in the patient record.  Is there some way to run a utilities to fix this? or do I have to go one by one?  These are inactive accounts from many, many years ago.

To list the account with discrepancies: how about an account aging (including inactive accounts for a specific time period). Then you could manually re-distribute?

Don't think that will work.  The account balance is actually zero.  You could run a AR report for zero balance accounts, but you likely will get more than you bargain for (hopefully).  You are looking for accounts that have credits (payments credited to the account, not the patient), but they are offset by patients in the account with the same debit balance, thereby making the account balance is zero.

@kat710 - I believe it has to be account by account ... the way you "fix" that is to access the account payment screen (the old "y" option) and then highlight the credits.  Click on transfer credits and SD should clear it out for you.

I'm curious as to how you found these accounts?  AFAK, there is no report to find or access.  I found them occasionally by viewing the router and the balances listed, or the InOffice screen and view the balances.

I'd LOVE to have the ability to run a report for those accounts that need the credit transfers.

If you know of a way, please pass it along!

I did a patient user-selected report and put in the parameters LT$0.
