Hello SD Community,
It's our understanding that Microsoft is now selling Office and Server 2019.
I wanted to be clear from jump and let everyone know that SoftDent DOES NOT support Office/Server 2019 yet.
SoftDent 17.1.1 is the latest released version and it DOES support Office/Server 2016.
We ARE planning to get SD certified with Office/Server 2019 within 2019 so look for it later this year!
Let me know if you have any questions.
Good info to note for all, Thanks Tyson. A point to note as well, if any are using Office 365 it will automatically jump you to 2019. If that is the case you may want to get a static version of Office until your platforms have obtained SB certification. I think it should be wider publicized that you are 2016 ready now, and folks should look to update Office accordingly for all platforms. There are advantages and disadvantages you must weigh in your particular situation. P Chaney WinOMS
I'm curious if there is any new update on running Softdent 18.x on Windows Server 2019? I have clients with servers at end of life, and sure would love to get them on the 2019 platform instead of WinServer2016 if at all possible.
Version 19 will be certified with Server 2019. We can't certify previous releases.
v19 will be out Q1/ Early Q2 this year. You can get it earlier if you'd like to beta. Send me a message if you're interested in that.
It is possible to run v18 on Server 19 but we don't support it so if you choose that route you are kinda on your own if you run into any issues.
Message me directly if you would like more info.
Brad Foster here... I am I.T. for a dental practice here and I have already purchased a new server with Windows 2019 server OS. Unfortunately, we need to get their software installed on it. I have the DVD for v18 but couldn't get it to install. Is there anything I can do to force it to install?
I don't see v19 available and I am in a crunch here. I am not sure what to do.
Wondering if Microsoft Word 2019 is compatible with Softdent now? New word has been out for a year, I can't use letter expert. Thank you!
