Treatment plan order and insurance

Jump to solution

I am having an issue with the treatment plan. If I treatment plan something new after there is already treatment in the plan but put the new treatment into group 1 and move the old treatment to group 2 insurance does not update this information. It says that they are maxing so no insurance payment is expected in group 1 but group 2 has insurance paying a portion???

Also, how do I look at a claim that has been already paid?

I have never worked with a software that is so user UN-friendly.

Hi Susan,

They should be using allowance tables and fee schedule 0.

The estimation type on the plan needs to be set correctly  and percentages tuned before the allowance table is connected. I can assist you with this please email me directly with your contact info. albert.keith@carestream.com and I would be happy to connect and look a it.

You may also always want to

start your tx plans in at least Group 2,.  This will

easily allow you to add TX into Group for re-estimation.

After moving one TX group to Group 1 ( or whichever number you chose as lowest Group number) you can select the are-Estimation option on the tool bar (As suggested earlier.  However,  sometimes you have to

escape out and then re-enter the tax plan for proper re-fresh of tax plan. (Softdent Glich)

rhumphreys‌ it looks like your office also has access to the Carestream Dental Institute, as a part of your support plan. There are some new employee learning tracks available there that include recorded classes and documentation (there are a few classes on basic treatment planning as well). The email address that is registered is HUMPHREYSDDS@GMAIL.COM . You can access the Carestream Dental Institute by going to www.carestreamdental.com/CDI

First question

Treatment plan items are estimated by the lowest group number starting with the primary treatment plan. There is  a re estimate insurance button on the options bar. If you change the order of treatment you are changing which items are being estimated.

To find a completed claim go to patient transactions/ completed claims option, select the claim and review transactions on that claim including payments and adjustments.

Please take advantage of our training resources, Softdent can be very friendly once you learn the shortcuts on how to use it.

Thank you, I am new to this office (and softdent) and the girls here were never trained properly on softdent.

I am still having the problem of the treatment plan even after I re-estimate insurance. This may be due to the way that Softdent was originally set up. They are not using fee schedules but only the blue book. Could that be the problem?
