We have several patients that have dental insurance as primary and then they have Medicaid as Secondary. When we print the treatment plan, it shows all the charges in the patient column. Our patients are hesitant to sign the consent because it list them being responsible for the charges. We don't always know what the plan benefits are on all of the insurances. We are not a participating provider in any private insurance company. Please advise on getting all the charges to show up under the insurance column.
Medicaid type plan is not designed to estimate as secondary insurance . However if you create/convert a Medicaid type plan to a flat fee ppo plan with Medicaid attributes such as treat patient as guarantor and you have primary insurance accurately set up you can achieve better estimates.
You will have to do insurance adjustments however for flat fee ppo's
