Taking patient portraits

Does anyone have  a specific webcam they use that is compatible with Softdent version 16.2.4 that we can use to to take our patient portraits. The more specific the brand/model/specs you can recommend the better.

Thanks!

Re: Taking patient portraits

There is not a specific webcam....just make sure to set the webcam to use

the WDM drivers within the Video Capture Options.

1. Click System.

2. Select Change System Settings.

3. Select Video Capture Options.

4. Under the "Video Source" dialog, select Microsoft WDM Image Capture

(Win32).

If this option is not available they will need to install the MICROSOFT

WDM Drivers for their Webcam.

5. Then Click OK.

Re: Taking patient portraits

Good day Genevieve,

Generally the most common webcams that are used for Softdent are logitech webcams. As long as the webcam you decide to purchase is TWAIN compliant, (TWAIN is a type of driver found in most printers, scanners, webcams, etc.) it should be able to integrate into Softdent. I hope this helps

Re: Taking patient portraits

Can anyone give the exact webcam that they use?  We have read that logitech webcams are not all TWAIN compliant and are not finding that information on sellers' websites!  A specific model would be so helpful.  We have already bought one webcam that would not work and our Dr. is not willing to try another without knowing for sure!

Re: Taking patient portraits

We use Logitech HD Webcam C310 for patient photos without any issues on SD version 16.2.4.
