To enter an insurance company's Payer ID used for electronic claims submission, perform the following steps.
1. Click List from the main menu bar.2. Select Ins. Co.3. Double-click on the desired insurance company.4. Enter the payer ID into the Payer ID field.5. Click OK to save the changes.
When we try to add a payer ID we have a predetermined list of IDs attached to insurance companies in a drop down menu. All of the ID#s are numeric with no letters. We often come across an insurance company that has a letter in the payer ID# or a totally different ID # that we don't have on our list anyways. We are also able to manually type in new Payer ID#s but we are unable to enter other information and are unable to electronically submit them and we end up having to send them paper. Is there a place where we are able to just add a new payer ID# to allow for electronic claims submissions?
