I would like to add another form of Payment Method called "Care Credit". Since Care Credit is separate from Visa/MC/Discover/AMEX, there is no other option to use except "Money Order". Choosing "Credit Card" automatically puts it in the e-payment category, therefore, we can't use this. I don't want to create a new account under Pay/Adj Code because there should only be two types of payments - Insurance Payment and Patient Payment.
Care Credit should be a Method of Payment, not a payment type. Would it be possible to add this?

It's been 5 months since I originally asked the question and, while there's been a lot of discussion and just about everyone agrees it should be added, I don't see where this has actually been included in the latest updates of WINOMS. Is this in the pipeline? Thanks!
Just realized someone asked how we changed our Money Order payment type to CareCredit. If memory serves me right it was through "Daysheet Setup" . Keep in mind that renaming any type of payment, discount, write-off or adjustment only changes the name of that category It does NOT change the dollar amounts already recorded under that category. We changed ours from Money Order to CareCredit on January 1st so we can run reports from that day forward knowing it's CareCredit dollars and a report for anything prior to Jan 1st was money order dollars.
This is why being able to add an additional payment type instead of changing the name of one would be so much better. Especially if your looking at adding Bitcoin, PayPal or any other form of electronic payment (Apple, Samsung, or Google Wallet).
I do not know if this will help, but we have care credit integrated with the software and when posting a transaction, we use code 13, This will bring up where you enter the care credit amount and payment options . Once you complete all the information you are able to print your receipts . At the end of day when we run a deposit slip, we will receive a separate sheet showing all our care credit deposits for the day. We are using version 16.2.4. We are very pleased how this has been working.
Yes! Thank you for your feedback. We may use the way Softdent handles these payments as a model.
We have had a Care Credit code for years. We are also integrated with Care Credit, so when we enter the payment code (13), Care Credit pops up. It will look up card numbers, give you the plans to choose from and print out the Care Credit receipt for the patient to sign. It is awesome. We are on v126.96.36.199.

What she is referencing is actually her Softdent software which is another one of our Carestream products for our dental clients but mimicking that functionality is what I was wanting to look into for WinOMSCS.
jeffrey.urkevich The Softdent model of the CareCredit payment functionality would be a great starting point to build off of for WinOMSCS in this situation.
That would be great if CareCredit payment can be integrated in WINOMS. From what I understand, effective 10/1/17, CareCredit will require that all transactions be processed via their website. Can this be linked somehow to WINOMS?
We are already integrated with CareCredit, but the payment types would need to be enhanced in order to support what you are looking for.
Agreed Care Credit should be a separate payment method. We used to post them as Credit Card payments but now we use e-payments. Credit Card is no longer an option because it prompts e-payments to run, even when using the Patient Payment code. So now we choose Electronic Deposit and enter CareCredit in the comment box, but it would be better if it was a separate choice in the drop down list.
which drop down list do you want this to appear in. Would you describe which window and/or how you get there?

We use a patient payment code, then choose Credit Card, type=other right now.
If it will be added as a separate option in drop-down, I would vote it not be limited to Care Credit, since we have used other 3rd-party financing options similar to Care Credit, such as Lending Club.
Although you cannot add payment categories you can rename them. We renamed the Money Order category to CareCredit and on the rare occasion someone pays with a money order we just use the Personal Ck category. We don't differentiate between personal checks or money orders.

Jhett, Laura uses Orthotrac, a different practice management software. What she suggests isn't possible in WinOMS.

I know offices would use this option often and have heard them request it in other venues/ products of ours as well. Would be a great add to get this in if we could.
This would be a great addition, i currently have offices create a separate pay/adj code for Care Credit so it can be tracked on the reports.
