Recently, you may have noticed the changes made to the Rx Pad when prescribing medication. The screen now offers the ability to prescribe Compound medications for non-controlled substances electronically. This will accommodate the frequently requested ability to prescribe Magic Mouthwash and other compound medications.
The workflow for electronic compound meds will require a checkmark to present for both Compound? and Not a Controlled Substance. These boxes are located in the center of the screen. This will allow the user to free text the Drug and SIG information for a compound. If the user does not want to create a compound prescription, the boxes should remain unchecked and the user can proceed with issuing a prescription in the typical manner.
