The Future of Carestream?

I am feeling uneasy with the future of Carestream dental (WINoms). Anyone else? 

Just a 22+ year veteran of Carestream WINoms software trying to educate myself to keep my practice running smoothly and efficiently. 

My list of reasonings in chronological order.

• No Carestream annual World Health Summit meeting held for the 4th year in a row (COVID can be blamed for 2020 and 2021)
• Sale of Carestream's intraoral imaging equipment & related software (December 2021)
• The announcement from Carestream's parent company of bankruptcy (August 2022)
• One of our trusted long term (20+ years) Carestream employees departure from Carestream (not naming said individual) September 2022
• Launch of Sensei for WINoms (September 2022) Is this a 3rd party company?
• The cancelation of October 2022 Annual software spotlight showcase with no reason as to why
• Our IT company severing ties with Carestream imaging hardware installs due to lack of support (2023)
• Large multi doc OMS practice in our area completely switching to Carestack OMS software after 25 years of Carestream WINoms (2023) 

Again, I am just looking for insight and reassurance.

Here is the REALITY!!!!!

Windows 11 was released ONE year ago.  WinOMS CS is still not supported on Windows 11!!!

How is that "Our commitment to our customers as strong as ever"

Good Afternoon, 
Our research & development (R&D) team is in the final stages of testing WinOMS in the Windows 11 operating system environment.  We are committed to ensuring that WinOMS will run successfully in this environment before we certify WinOMS to run on Windows 11.  My technical product owner reached out to your practice today and spoke with Nika and explained that our testing should conclude in the very near future.  

In the interim, we sincerely appreciate your patience and we value your business.

I am a WinOMS user since 1999.  I agree with you that seems like the company is just coasting and not innovating or introducing timely updates to the software.  For example, Windows 11 were introduced 1 year ago and WinOMS is still not compatible with it yet.  The problem is that WinOMS has about 60-70 percent of the oral surgery market and they have very little incentive to innovate.  Switching to a new practice management software is very expensive. I considered switching multiple times during the last 5-7 years.  The cost of the new software, installation and team training can easily run into tens of thousands of dollars.

I will stick with WinOMS for now  but I am actively looking at other options.
