we need to hook the claim to the payment, not just enter the payment
If you are posting a payment in Softdent and the payment screen (Y from Transactions), you should get a drop down that allows you to select the claim you want associated with the payment, as you move from insurance payment (#2) to amount to claim.....
I understand posting a payment with code #2, but I need a code for a credit card insurance payment. I know there is a code for that, but it doesn't allow us to hook the claim to the payment. We don't want the credit card payment to be in the deposit for the bank.
yes, i understand when we use the code 2 for insurance checks. but we need a code for credit card insurance payments that will allow us to hook the insurance claim to the credit card payment, we don't want the credit card payment to be in the deposit for the bank.
Gotcha....not sure on that. softdentgirl could help.....:)
11.93 Mastercard insurance Payment 12.93 Visa insurance Payment 13.93 Discover insurance Payment 14.93 American Express insurance Payment

these codes allow you to select a claim number as long as you are on SoftDent Version 16.2 or higher
SoftDent Version 16.2 or Higher
The following codes have been added to the ADA/Transaction Code list for new offices (or offices who have not renamed codes):
11.93 MasterCard Insurance Payment
12.93 VISA Insurance Payment
13.93 Discover Insurance Payment
14.93 American Express Insurance Payment
These codes have also been added to the Default ADA tab on the Practice Information window.
In v16.2.0 and higher & v116.2.0 and higher, the following codes have been
added to the ADA/Trans Code list for new offices (or offices who have not
These codes have also been added to the Default ADA tab of the Practice
For offices that are using renamed credit card codes, the first available
extension, starting with .93, will be used. For example: If the office
uses code 17 for VISA, and not using code 17.93, the system will assign
code 17.93 as the VISA Insurance Payment code. If 17.93 is already in use,
the next available extension (.94) is used, and so on.
Using these codes, you will have the option to attach the claim number
with the Credit Card payment.

these codes let you post the payment to a claim number
as long as you are on version 16.2 or higher
We have v116.2.3 and are not able to attach a claim when using these codes. Isn't this a 16.2 or higher version?
Check this (unfortunately I cannot check the scheduler version)
Look in the lower right corner and make sure you select the correct code for Visa, MC, Amex & Discover
Thank you Wendy. Problem solved :-)
I'm Glad I could help!
We are still on Version 16.1.1. The way to get around this is to enter the transaction twice. You first have to enter it as Code 2 insurance check payment for zero dollars and attach the claim number and put in notes that it is a credit card payment. Then enter the right amount paid by the respective credit card ADA code. This way your claim is attached to the insurance payment and payment does not show up in the check deposits but in credit card deposits.
hope it helps!!!!
